One of North Texas’ most recognizable Fourth of July traditions is preparing for another massive celebration this summer. Addison Kaboom Town! returns on July 3, once again transforming all 4.4 square miles of Addison into a townwide Independence Day celebration expected to draw more than 500,000 visitors.

The annual event, which first launched in 1985, recently earned national recognition again after being named the No. 4 Best Place to Watch Fireworks in America by USA Today.

The ranking continues a long history of national recognition for Addison Kaboom Town!, which has repeatedly appeared on lists highlighting the country’s top fireworks displays. The event has also previously been recognized in national rankings

A Celebration Tied To America’s 250th Anniversary

This year’s event carries additional significance as communities across the country begin commemorating the upcoming American Semiquincentennial, marking 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

One of the new additions this year is the Patriotic Pergola, presented by the Association of the United States Army, featuring flags representing all 50 states and five U.S. territories displayed in the order they joined the Union.

Texas, organizers noted, will appear as the 28th state.

What Visitors Can Expect

The centerpiece of the celebration remains the official watch party inside Addison Circle Park, where thousands gather each year for live music, food, airshows and the nationally recognized fireworks finale.

This year’s entertainment lineup includes:

Poo Live Crew
Emerald City All-Stars
Expanded Silent Disco experiences
Addison Airport Airshow performances
Historic military aircraft and aerobatic acts
Skydiving demonstrations

The evening’s fireworks show is scheduled for 9:30 p.m.

Beyond The Park

Even for those without park tickets, Addison’s restaurant and hotel scene has become a major part of the experience.

The town is home to more than 200 restaurants, many of which host watch parties, live entertainment and special food and drink offerings during the event.

Organizers say hotel packages and overnight stays remain especially popular due to heavy traffic following the fireworks show.
