The storm threat for the Greater Houston Area is not over by a long shot.
Geoff Maurer with The Weather Channel says we are for hit and miss storms through Memorial Day on Monday. Here’s his forecast.
** Flood Watch through Monday morning for Galveston, Ft. Bend, Brazoria, Matagorda & Wharton Counties. 4-6″ of rain is possible.**
Friday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 10am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 86. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Friday Night: A 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7pm. Increasing clouds, with a low around 74. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm after midnight.
Saturday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 1pm. High near 83. Southeast wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
