Salvation Army of Corpus Christi pushes to reach 500-fan goal during summer heat drive

The Salvation Army is asking the community to help reach its goal of collecting 500 fans during its annual Beat the Heat Fan Drive.

Organizers said the drive is only a little over halfway to its goal with just over a month remaining before donations wrap up at the end of June.

The campaign collects new 20-inch box fans to be distributed to seniors, families, and individuals who need relief from the intense South Texas summer heat.

Officials said every donated fan can make a difference for residents struggling to stay cool during the hottest months of the year.

Fans can be shipped directly to The Salvation Army Family Store at 5042 South Padre Island Drive or dropped off at 1804 Buford Street in Corpus Christi.
