Travelers are urged to arrive early at Houston Airports beginning Saturday due to expected security screening delays, according to the Houston Airport System.
Passengers should expect potential delays with TSA at both William P. Hobby and George Bush Intercontinental airports beginning at 4 a.m. Transportation Security Administration checkpoints will only be open in Terminals A and E at Bush Airport, while Hobby Airport will see reduced screening lanes, according to a news release from the Houston Airport System.

United Airlines travelers are encouraged to check their luggage at Terminal C and then go to Terminal E for security screening by walking or taking the IAH subway, according to the news release.
The time to get through security could last more than 30 minutes, the airport system said. That’s three times as long as some waits during a weekday in early October, when the TSA warned of lengthening delays during the government shutdown.
“While TSA is prepared to continue screening about 2.5 (million) passengers a day, an extended shutdown could mean longer wait times at airports,” the agency said in an early-October statement.
Friday’s statement from the Houston Airport System did not provide a reason for the longer delays.
