MCKINNEY — Plano East senior Abdullhi Mahdi posted an interception in the end zone with 1:16 left in the fourth quarter, and senior quarterback Jackson Howard clinched a 20-13 win over McKinney after he ran for a first down that allowed the Panthers to run out the remaining time on the game clock.

After McKinney kicked a field goal to open the scoring, Plano East responded with two touchdowns — a 10-yard run by freshman running back Treyce Seldon and a 2-yard burst by Howard — to give the Panthers a 14-3 lead in the second quarter.

Seldon finished with 88 rushing yards and two scores.

Junior Javon Rogers blocked a field goal with less than 10 seconds remaining in the first half to keep Plano East’s 14-3 lead intact heading into intermission.

Plano East improves to 2-7 overall, 2-5 in District 6-6A.
