EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Workforce Solutions Borderplex is preparing to roll out a new contractor model aimed at modernizing workforce services across the Borderplex region, including El Paso.
The new model is meant to improve how residents connect with jobs and how employers fill openings.
The organization described it as a shift toward a more “specialized, responsive, and human-centered” workforce system while maintaining uninterrupted services for job seekers, businesses, and families throughout the region.
According to Workforce Solutions Borderplex, the updated structure is designed to streamline services for people searching for employment and make it easier for local employers to identify qualified candidates for open positions.
The move comes as El Paso continues to face workforce challenges tied to population growth, economic development, and demand for skilled labor in industries such as healthcare, logistics, and manufacturing.
Workforce agencies in the region have increasingly focused on improving access to training programs and reducing barriers for workers entering or re-entering the job market.
Officials said the contractor model was approved as part of a broader effort to improve customer experience and workforce outcomes across the Borderplex area.
Workforce Solutions Borderplex has not yet announced a timeline for the full implementation of the new system, but said services will continue without disruption during the transition.
