Police say a man went to his ex-girlfriend’s home at around 3 a.m. and got into an argument with a male friend of hers.

HOUSTON — A man was shot and killed early Saturday morning after an argument outside a home on the north side of Houston, according to police.

Lt. Ali with the Houston Police Department said officers responded around 3 a.m. to a shooting call on  Lucky Street in the Acres Homes community. When they arrived, they found a man on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds.

“Officers immediately jumped into action and started to perform first aid measures such as CPR and applying chest seals,” Lt. Ali said. “HFD was also called to the location and, once HFD arrived, unfortunately, the adult male was pronounced deceased on scene.”

Lt. Ali said the man was the ex-boyfriend of a woman who lived at the home. Her current friend, a man, was also there when a verbal altercation took place that apparently led to a shooting.

“The details on what led to the shooting at this point are unclear,” Lt. Ali said, adding that HPD’s homicide division is investigating.

At this point, police haven’t released the name of the man who was killed.
