EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — On Saturday, May 23, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched at 11:43 a.m. to Loop 375 East at Transmountain for a call regarding a serious motor vehicle crash.

When they arrived, deputies located a crash involving a motorcycle with serious injuries and requested assistance from the Sheriff’s Office Special Traffic Investigators (STI).

The eastbound lanes of Loop 375 at Transmountain were closed due to the collision, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

Preliminary findings of the investigation revealed that while the motorcyclist was exiting a right-hand curve traveling eastbound, they failed to negotiate a subsequent left-hand curve and crashed into a traffic sign pole.

The motorcyclist was thrown off the motorcycle and was transported to a hospital with severe injuries.

Traffic was being redirected to avoid the closure while law enforcement was on scene.

According to El Paso Sheriff officials, the investigation remains ongoing.
