EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The City of El Paso is inviting residents to take part in a series of community budget meetings next month that will provide the public with their first look at the proposed Fiscal Year 2027 budget.
Ahead of the community meetings, the City will host special City Council meetings beginning at 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 27 and Thursday, May 28 to introduce the FY 2027 budget. The special City Council meetings will include a city manager overview and department budget profiles.
The June community meetings will give residents an opportunity to learn more about the City’s budget process, hear about proposed investments and priorities for the upcoming fiscal year, ask questions, and share feedback directly with City leadership and staff.
As part of this year’s outreach efforts, residents will also be introduced to the City’s new online Budget Simulator, an interactive tool designed to help the public better understand how budget decisions are made and the challenges involved in balancing community priorities with available resources, the City said.
The simulator allows users to explore funding decisions and see how adjustments to services, programs, and investments can impact the overall City budget.
The proposed budget includes investments aligned with the City Council Strategic Plan pillars, including economic mobility, public safety, infrastructure, quality of life, and good governance.
