Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the tournament that’ll be held over the weekend at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth. Koepka recently competed in the CJ Cup Byron Nelson at TPC Craig Ranch, tying for 14th at 18-under for the event.

Denny McCarthy, Gordon Sargent and David Ford have also withdrawn from the Charles Schwab Challenge. Jimmy Stanger, Ben Kohles and Brice Garnett are stepping in as replacements, to put the field of players at 132.

Koepka has one top 10 finish this season, tying for ninth at the Cognizant Classic in February.

After wrapping up Day 2 of the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, Scheffler and Spieth attributed their Charles Schwab Challenge absence to the PGA Tour’s heavy April-May scheduling.

“It’s just a rock and a hard place for myself and Scottie and guys who are local, who grew up here,” Spieth told The Dallas Morning News’ Brad Townsend after his round on Friday.
