San Antonians will soon get familiar with another fresh face who just joined a local TV station.
KSAT 12 welcomed reporter Alexis Scott from Corpus Christi’s KRIS 6 in April, and she said she’s already felt “how welcoming everyone has been.”
“There’s such a strong sense of community and pride here,” Scott said in a Q&A with the local ABC affiliate. “The city is full of culture, good energy and arriving right before Fiesta was the perfect introduction to all of it.”
While at KRIS 6, Scott covered local politics, breaking moments, the water crisis in South Texas and the Uvalde school shooting trial, according to her KSAT 12 bio. She also worked at KPRC 2 in Houston, a KSAT sister station and ABC affiliate. A Michigander, Scott previously contributed to ABC News’ 20/20 and Good Morning America, as well as covering the Justice and Transportation Departments for ABC’s Washington, D.C. bureau.
According to a Facebook post, Scott left KRIS 6 back in January, reminiscing on “three years. Countless stories. Endless gratitude.”
A spokesperson for KSAT 12 told MySA via email, “Alexis Scott’s arrival at KSAT12 is a tremendous win for San Antonio and the South Texas community. She brings deep experience covering city politics, breaking news, and the historic weather events that shape this region — and she joins a newsroom that is stronger than ever, committed to telling the stories that matter most and delivering real answers to the people we serve.”
Since moving to the Alamo City, Scott said she’s excited to explore more of the city’s history, neighborhoods, restaurants and other hidden gems. As for what she likes to do outside of being on TV, Scott is a traveler (recently visiting El Salvador to hike volcanoes and zipline through the rainforest) and skydiver. She also enjoys cooking, spending time with family and volunteering at churches and nonprofits.
