The Dallas County Health and Human Services recorded mosquito samples testing positive for West Nile Virus on May 22.
The positive samples were collected from two mosquito pools in the 75243 ZIP code area. This area stretches from Royal Lane to Walnut Street.
For residents in the affected area, Dallas County Health and Human Services encourages taking precautions to avoid mosquito bites, including using insect repellent, wearing long sleeves and pants outdoors and removing standing water around homes where mosquitoes can breed as mosquito season ramps up across North Texas.
