On a Saturday morning conference call with reporters, Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer said starting safety Donovan Wilson is “50-50″ to play as he deals with elbow and shoulder problems.
But Schottenheimer cautioned that Wilson might not play at all in Monday’s game against the Cardinals.
“Until he can get out there and run around, we’ll see how he does today,” Schottenheimer said. “I’d say it’s closer to 50-50, but again, there’s a chance he doesn’t play.”
The Cowboys could get backup safety Juanyeh Thomas back for the game. Thomas missed the last two games with migraines.

If Thomas returns, he’ll team up with Markquese Bell as the starters. Bell has started the last two games with Thomas out.
Rookie safety Alijah Clark (ribs) won’t play Monday night.
Expect backup cornerback Reddy Steward (29 snaps at Denver) to get some looks at safety. Steward came in for an injured Clark in the Denver game.
As Schottenheimer deals with changes at safety due to health reasons, he didn’t expect more playing time for certain players at linebacker.
The main starters have been Kenneth Murray and Shemar James in passing situations, adding Marist Liufau in the base defense.
Liufau has picked up 26 snaps the last two weeks on defense. Damone Clark is another linebacker who could get more playing time. Clark has gotten three defensive snaps the last four games.
Schottenheimer seemed to dismiss more playing time for Clark and Liufau.
“Again, you will see some subtle things but right now for us (Murray) and Shemar and Marist are the guys that are playing the most for us,” he said. “Damone has been doing a real good job on special teams and he’s ready to go if needed. I think you’ll see some different packages that we use that will allow us to feature some of those guys.”
