North Texas area considered one of fastest growing ZIP codes

FORT WORTH, Texas — In Fort Worth, the 76177 ZIP code has seen so much growth — so much so that it’s now considered one of the fastest-growing ZIP codes in the country, according to the latest U.S. Census data. 

The 76177 ZIP code is in the northwest corridor of Fort Worth, home to a planned community known as AllianceTexas that is soaring in population.

According to RentCafe’s new study, the ZIP code ranks No. 7 in the fastest-growing “new neighborhoods” in America that didn’t exist a year ago.

“You have warehouse spaces that have recently been developed right across Dale Earnhardt, that are about two years old. So all of this growth has been really staggering in the past few years is awesome,” said Mark Faber, who is the general manager of the Texas Motor Speedway.

Faber said 30 years ago, the only piece of property out in the 76177 was just a track.

“There was nothing out here. It was pasture land. It was ranch land. There was nothing around. And now that you see, the growth around here has just been staggering in 30 years. And new developments come every day,” Faber said.

That pastureland has become AllianceTexas, a 27,000-acre commercial and residential hot spot — a place where many companies like Amazon and Charles Schwab have set up shop. Over 50,000 Texans call the area home.

Fort Worth Councilman Chris Jamieson, who represents the 76177 ZIP code, says that is exactly what’s drawing the people.

“So many businesses that are coming here, and they look at all the options around the area, and they’re moving there because it has so much to offer,” Jamieson said.

He says Hillwood, the real estate developer, took a plot of land and created a community for all.

“There was a lot of intentionality, a lot of planning to say, look, we want we don’t want to just have these specific buildings. We want to have this area that checks all the boxes and says that it can have restaurants mixed, used, multifamily, residential, everything. It’s just very unique,” Jamieson said.

Along with the north Fort Worth ZIP code, three other Texas ZIP codes made the fastest growing new neighborhoods list. No. 4 is Fulshear, Texas, outside of Houston; No. 9 is Prosper; and No. 10 is Melissa.

Just last year, the City of Fort Worth reached 1 billion residents and became the 10th largest city in the country.
