The summer is quickly approaching, meaning it’s almost time for the Dallas Cowboys to start their OTAs.

Over the summer, NFL teams conduct organized team practice activities, or OTAs, to ramp up their preparation for the new season. Dallas is scheduled to host OTAs on the following dates: June 1-2, June 4, June 8-9 and June 11.

The Cowboys officially started their offseason workout program in late April. The OTA portion of the workout program is classified by the NFL as Phase Three. In Phase One, activities are limited to meetings, strength and conditioning and physical rehabilitation. In Phase Two, teams can conduct on-field workouts at a walk-through pace, with no live contact or team offense vs. team defense drills.

During OTAs, live contact isn’t allowed but teams can run 7-on-7, 9-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills.
