The Longhorns came back from a 1-0 hole to win the Austin Super Regional against Arizona State last weekend and now faces the Tennessee Volunteers. The Vols swept the Knoxville Super Regional against Georgia, allowing just two runs over the two games.
Despite being conference “rivals,” the two “UT” schools didn’t face off this season. They tied for fourth in the rugged SEC with identical 16-8 records. If Texas wins, it will play Saturday. If the Longhorns lose, they take the field again Friday.
Here’s how to watch Thursday’s game:
Who: No. 1 Texas Longhorns vs No. 2 Tennessee Volunteers
What: Game 2, opening round of WCWS
Where: Devon Park, Oklahoma City
The Longhorns could play Texas Tech or Mississippi State next.
The bracket is split into two sections of four. Each group plays a double-elimination style until the last team standing moves on to the three-game title series.
