After a rainy week and scattered flooding across the area, North Texans are finally getting a break from carrying their umbrellas.
Thursday evening rounded out the chances of storms with isolated areas seeing quick hits of heavy rain and gusty winds, according to the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office.
A much warmer Friday is expected, with temperatures hitting 5 degrees above normal. North Texans can expect highs in the upper 80s and 90s with south winds ranging from 5 to 10 miles per hour, according to the weather service. Most of the area will hang up its rain jacket.
Saturday and Sunday will follow the same trend, with temperatures expected in the low- to mid-90s both days. Low chances of thunderstorms will hit west of the Interstate 35 corridor but mainly during the evening hours, according to the weather service.
As we look into the start of June on Monday, chances of rain kick back up with an unsettled pattern sitting across the North Texas region. According to the weather service, not everyone will see rain, but a few stronger storms will bring heavy rain, strong winds, small hail and frequent lightning.
