The Corpus Christi Police Department says officers impounded nine motorcycles, minibikes, and pocket bikes after stopping a group riding on city streets on May 22.

According to police, officers with the department’s Violent Crimes Unit spotted several riders operating the vehicles on a public roadway around 8:40 p.m.

Officers then pulled the group over for multiple traffic violations, including illegally operating pocket bikes and minibikes on public streets.

Police said nine vehicles were impounded, and the riders were given citations at the scene.

The department says it is increasing enforcement efforts amid complaints about minibikes and pocket bikes across the community. Police are reminding riders to follow traffic laws and make sure vehicles are legal to drive on public roads.
