Tennessee softball is set to meet Texas Tech in the 1-0 game of the 2026 Women’s College World Series. The winner will be just one win away from reaching the championship series, while the loser will be forced to win three straight to stay alive.
The critical matchup between the Lady Vols and Red Raiders is set for 3 p.m. ET and will air on ABC from Oklahoma City.
No. 7 Tennessee reached the round by downing No. 2 Texas in the opening game of the WCWS. No. 11 Texas Tech blew out Mississippi State.
“I mean, just a super talented team,” Lady Vols head coach Karen Weekly said about Texas Tech. “Again, a team that can go deep in pitching. Haven’t had to rely on one arm, just like we haven’t had to. A stacked lineup. Up and down all the way through, one through nine. Yeah, I mean, they’ve got everything you would want from a talent perspective.”
