ARLINGTON, Tex. — American Airlines honored three World War II veterans, each more than 100 years old, during a special recognition event at a Texas Rangers game this week as part of the company’s centennial celebration.
The veterans were recognized on the field at Globe Life Field and each took part in ceremonial first pitches before the game.

The honorees included veterans who served in multiple branches of the U.S. military during World War II, including service in the Pacific Theater.
American Airlines said the event was designed to celebrate its 100-year anniversary while also recognizing the service and sacrifice of the Greatest Generation.
The ceremony took place in front of fans ahead of Thursday night’s game in Arlington.
