Texas A&M baseball scored 17 unanswered runs through seven innings to capture a massive 17-2 win over Texas State in Game 4 of the College Station Regional on Saturday night at Blue Bell Park.
The Bobcats proved why they earned the title of the Sun Belt Conference’s home run leaders in 2026 by tacking on two solo home runs in the first two innings of the contest. After giving up the two solo shots, Texas A&M right-hander Weston Moss completely shut down Texas State’s lineup by recording a career-high 10 strikeouts across 7.1 innings pitched.
Meanwhile, first baseman Gavin Grahovac’s solo home run in the third inning sparked one of the most impressive performances from the Aggies‘ offense thus far. Every player in the starting lineup recorded a hit, as the bubbles flew through the night sky at Olsen Field in the five-run sixth frame and the seven-spot in the eighth.
Chris Hacopian’s outstanding night at the plate puts him at 5-of-9 with seven RBI in the regional. Left fielder Jake Duer led Texas A&M on Saturday night with a career-high six RBI, as the Aggies cruised to a 15-run win over the Bobcats.
It remains undetermined who will pitch for the Aggies in the regional final against Texas State or USC, but head coach Michael Earley confirmed after the game that right-hander Aiden Sims is out for the year. The devastating news for the already thin Aggie bullpen could be detrimental, unless Texas A&M can get more consistent outings from guys like Shane Sdao and Ethan Darden moving forward.
