D-FW will see another summerlike day Sunday, with mostly sunny skies, muggy conditions and temperatures climbing into the mid-90s, according to the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office.
The high is expected to reach about 96 degrees, with south winds around 10 to 15 mph. Sunday morning will start warm, with temperatures in the mid-70s before rising quickly through the afternoon.
The warm pattern is expected to hold into Monday, with another high near 96 before scattered storm chances return Tuesday. Forecasters said coverage is expected to remain spotty through the middle of the week, meaning some areas may stay dry even as rain chances return.
Rain chances are expected to be about 30% Tuesday and 20% Wednesday and Thursday, with highs easing from the low 90s into the upper 80s.
Residents spending time outdoors Sunday should drink water, take breaks in shade or air conditioning and limit strenuous activity during the hottest part of the afternoon.
