History

HAMMOND, La. – The No. 16/21 ranked Southeastern Louisiana Lions rolled a to 59-14 win on their home turf over the East Texas A&M University football team on Saturday night at Strawberry Stadium.
 

The loss snaps a two-game winning streak on the road for East Texas A&M, who falls to 2-7 overall and 2-3 in Southland Conference action. Southeastern has won three in a row over East Texas A&M and is now 7-2 overall, 5-0 in SLC action, and undefeated against FCS competition this year. SLU came into the week being ranked No. 16 in the AFCA poll and No. 21 in the Stats Perform FCS poll.
 

Southeastern won the coin toss and put the East Texas A&M offense on the field first. After forcing a punt, Carson Camp found Jaylon Domingeaux for an 82-yard touchdown pass to cap off a drive that began on its own three-yard line.
 

After another punt by East Texas A&M, Dkhai Joseph took the punt back for a 61-yard touchdown. Deantre Jackson rushed in a one-yard touchdown and Joseph caught a 32-yard touchdown pass from Camp to put Southeastern up 35-0 at the half.
 
Receiving the ball to begin the second half, Southeastern returned the kick to the 50-yard line and Domingeaux caught an eight-yard touchdown pass from Kyle Lowe to put the Lions ahead 42-0.
 

On the next drive, East Texas A&M found its first points of the night as KJ Shankle (Fort Bend Travis) rushed in a three-yard touchdown as the Lions marched down 75 yards on nine plays in three minutes and three seconds.
 
Following another long punt return from Joseph to put the offense on the field at the 26-yard line. It took Southeastern seven plays to find the end zone as Calvin Smith Jr. rushed for a seven-yard touchdown.
 

Guillermo Garcia Rodriguez added a 43-yard field goal and Kyree Paul rushed in a 27-yard touchdown. For East Texas A&M, Will Madonna (Lakewood, Calif.) came into the game at quarterback and found Tyler Daniels (Vancleave, Miss.) for a 81-yard touchdown with 1:48 left in the game.
 

Southeastern outgained East Texas A&M 476-291, including an 136-32 advantage in rushing yards.
 
Eric Rodriguez (Fort Bend Travis) went 17 for 31 and an interception, tossing 184 yards. Daniel had two catches for 90 yards to lead the team, while Paul Odidi (Mansfield Timberview) added 55 yards on four catches.
 
Defensively, Kyree Anderson (Cy-Lakes) had team-best 13 tackles.
