EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) – El Paso County deputies arrested an armed suspect last week after he reportedly fired several shots at an occupied vehicle.
El Paso County deputies said last Tuesday, just before 5 p.m., they received the report of the suspect shooting at a vehicle near Outback View in the Midway area.
Deputies said they responded to the area and contacted two victims who were occupants of the vehicle when shots were fired.
Neither victim were injured, deputies said.
Deputies said the suspect, later identified as 34-year-old Robert Holly, had allegedly dug a trench across the roadway in front of his property to prevent vehicles from driving on it. He claimed the roadway was private property and was forcing vehicles to drive around it.
When the victims attempted to drive on the roadway, deputies said an argument started and Holly allegedly shot into the rear of their vehicle.
Deputies said Holly barricaded himself inside a camper on the property as they attempted to contact him. Additional resources were called to provide support and ensure the safety of the community.
Deputies said after several attempts to speak with Holly, he was taken into custody at about 8 p.m.
