Gilbert Garza Jr., 58, died following a multi-vehicle crash that shut down southbound IH-37 near Lantana Street on May 29.
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the man killed in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 37 last week as 58-year-old Gilbert Garza Jr.
According to the medical examiner’s office, Garza died following the crash, which occurred on Friday, May 29, on the southbound IH-37 near Lantana Street.
Family members have been notified.
The crash prompted the closure of the southbound lanes of IH-37 as Corpus Christi police officers and forensic investigators responded to the scene.
Authorities previously said the crash involved multiple vehicles, but have not released details on how many people were involved or what led to the crash.
No additional information about other injuries has been released.
