1 in critical in Horizon City suspected DWI crash

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – Officers responded to a head-on collision in Horizon on Sunday night, May 31, according to the Horizon Police Department.

Department officials reported one person was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

The crash happened around 10 p.m. at the 15000 block of Horizon Boulevard.

Horizon police said the driver of the other vehicle involved was taken into custody under suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the collision, according to a statement to KTSM from the police department.

Special Traffic Investigators are continuing to investigate the incident.

Multiple rescue workers were seen in the area.

North and southbound lanes were closed, and drivers were asked to avoid the area.
