Fort Worth ISD issued a new call for developers interested in the land surrounding Farrington Field, according to a district press release.
The district says the updated request for proposals was issued after talking to the community about their “hopes for Farrington Field.”
The request establishes some strict ground rules for developers interested in the land, located at the intersection of Lancaster Avenue and University Drive in Fort Worth. The land is adjacent to Fort Worth’s West 7th Entertainment district and the city’s museum district, making it a sought-after location.

“If a developer wants to buy the land where Billingsley field house is located, it must describe the intended use for the site and plans to preserve the legacy and historic aspects of the structure,” the request for proposals states.

The district also notes that they have no intentions or plans to sell or demolish Farrington Field itself. The plans submitted by developers must include plans to preserve the site’s trees to the maximum extent possible.
Proposals are being accepted through the district’s website until 2 p.m. on July 9th.
