ABILENE, Texas — Eleven people were arrested in Taylor County as part of a statewide operation targeting the online exploitation of children that resulted in hundreds of arrests across Texas, according to local authorities.

The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office announced its participation in Operation Soteria Shield 2026, a coordinated law enforcement initiative conducted during March and April that focused on crimes involving the online exploitation of minors.

Authorities said the operation targeted offenses including online solicitation of a minor and the possession, distribution and production of child sexual abuse material. The effort involved 91 law enforcement agencies statewide and led to 276 arrests across Texas.

In Taylor County, investigators executed multiple search warrants and arrested 11 individuals on charges related to the operation, the sheriff’s office said. Officials did not immediately release the identities of those arrested or provide details on the specific charges they face.
