Houston police say one man was hospitalized and two people detained after an early-morning shooting near Brazos and Webster streets.

HOUSTON — A man was hospitalized and two people were detained after a shooting early Sunday morning in Houston, according to police.

Lt. Ali with the Houston Police Department said the call came in around 3 a.m. from the intersection of Brazos Street and Webster Street. When officers arrived, they found a man with at least one gunshot wound.

He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Lt. Ali said two persons of interest were detained for questioning, and officers recovered a firearm at the scene. HPD’s Major Assaults Division was called and is en route to investigate further.

Investigators also identified three additional witnesses for questioning as they work to determine what led up to the gunfire.
