A growing chain of all-you-can-eat Wagyu barbecue restaurants is eyeing a popular shopping destination in San Antonio for its newest location, which is expected to open sometime this June.

Wagyu Factory, one of several concepts under Chubby Group, will open at Huebner Oaks Shopping Center sometime in June, replacing the defunct Gen Korean BBQ House that closed earlier this year. Chubby Group dropped a news release to share more about San Antonio’s first Wagyu Factory location.

“Wagyu Factory elevates all-you-can-eat dining with premium Wagyu BBQ, a full buffet, and tableside grilling. Guests can enjoy meats, sushi, hot dishes, desserts, sauces, and more in a customizable, social dining experience,” the release said.

In addition to all-you-can-eat Wagyu, the new restaurant will also serve up sushi, steamed dumplings, fried chicken and fried rice, among a host of other buffet options. Wagyu Factory also features a sauce bar and dipping station where customers can make their own sauces and load up on accoutrements, like kimchi, cucumbers and green onions.

“Wagyu Factory is about discovery, connection, and creating memories around the table. We are especially excited to bring this concept to Texas for the first time with our San Antonio opening,” Chubby Group co-founder David Zhao said in the news release.

Chubby Group is also behind Chubby Cattle BBQ, another all-you-can-eat barbecue concept that is planned for North Star Mall.
