EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for El Paso and Santa Teresa until 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2.
NWS said radars indicate thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the area, with up to 1.25 inches of rain to possibly fall.
The location that will be particularly hit is North Central El Paso. Fort Bliss and Northeast El Paso are also expected to experience flash floods.
NWS has also said there could be half-dollar-sized hail near Chaparral and Northeast El Paso.
A KTSM viewer shared a photo of nickel-sized hailstones in the Sandstone Ranch area, in Northeast El Paso.
KTSM’s Chief Meteorologist Robert Bettes has issued a Weather Authority Alert due to potential strong thunderstorms, heavy rain, power gusts and hail.
