19-year-old bicyclist killed in collision in Richardson

Richardson Police are investigating a fatal collision involving a vehicle and a bicyclist Monday.

Ngan Thi Xuan Nguyen, 19, died after they collided with a vehicle in the 1400 block of East Arapaho Road at 5:13 p.m., Richardson police said.

Investigations indicate Nguyen allegedly struck a Toyota Avalon while riding their bike on the sidewalk at the entrance/exit of a parking lot, police said. The Toyota was exiting the parking lot and preparing to turn west onto East Arapaho Road when police said Nguyen collided with the passenger side of the Toyota.

Nguyen was taken to a hospital and later died from injuries sustained in the crash, police said. The driver of the Toyota was not injured, police said.
