LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – (PRESS RELEASE)
The Volunteer Center of Lubbock is hosting 806ServeFest, a free community festival celebrating volunteerism, local nonprofits, and community connection, on Saturday, June 13 from 10 AM–2 PM. The event takes place outside of their new building, located at 1219 Avenue K in downtown Lubbock.
806ServeFest is designed to bring together local organizations, families, volunteers, businesses, and community members for a fun and meaningful day focused on service and engagement across the 806.
The festival will feature live music, food trucks, family activities, inflatables, lawn games, nonprofit booths, and hands-on service projects supporting local causes and organizations. Attendees will also have the opportunity to connect directly with nonprofits and discover ways to stay involved in the community long after the event ends.
“We wanted to create an event that makes community involvement feel approachable, fun, and welcoming,” said Kayla Thrasher with the Volunteer Center of Lubbock. “806ServeFest is about celebrating the organizations and people who make Lubbock stronger while giving community members an opportunity to connect and get involved.”
The event is free and open to the public. Community members are encouraged to come-and-go throughout the day and enjoy the festival atmosphere while exploring volunteer opportunities and local organizations.
The Volunteer Center of Lubbock is also currently seeking additional sponsors, volunteers, and community partners to support the event.
