EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — An 18-year-old from Central El Paso has been arrested after police said he had an illegal 3-D printed gun.

According to the El Paso Police Department, Raul Paez was arrested on Friday after he was allegedly caught with an illegal 3-D printed handgun following reports of gunfire.

EPPD said it all started when officers patrolling around the 1900 block of Montana Ave. (near the North Cotton Street intersection), heard gunfire coming from the Scenic Drive overlook.

Officers said that as they made their way to Scenic Drive, they stumbled upon a Chevrolet Tahoe at the 2500 block of Wheeling Avenue.

Officers said they spoke with the driver, and after looking into the vehicle, they reportedly found an AR-style rifle, an illegal 3-D printed gun and learned that Paez was the alleged shooter from Scenic Drive.
