Downtown Fort Worth has everything a wedding weekend needs within a few walkable
blocks: hotels, restaurants, and Sundance Square buzzing on a Friday night. What it
hasn’t always had is a wedding venue worthy of the setting. PalmWood Event &
Conference, located in Frost Tower at 640 Taylor Street, fills that gap.
For the bride who wants a beautiful wedding that’s also easy on her guests, the logistics
almost take care of themselves. Out-of-town family and friends can book a hotel a block
away and walk to the ceremony. For everyone else, validated parking is available in the
Frost Tower garage.
“Many of our brides choose to host their ceremony on the Limestone Terrace. It’s hard
to beat those views,” said Heather Hutto-Leon, Director of Catering. Weather, she notes,
is rarely a real concern. “All of our indoor spaces have floor-to-ceiling windows
overlooking the skyline, so if we need to move inside, the view comes with us.”
As the sun goes down and the city lights come on, the celebration typically moves inside
to the Anthracite Ballroom for the reception. The morning after, guests can reconvene
one level down at Branch & Bird for brunch before heading home.
It’s a surprisingly simple weekend, for everyone involved. For the bride especially, that
simplicity is the gift — she gets to show up and be present, rather than spend her
wedding day putting out fires.
“That’s really what we’re here for,” said Hutto-Leon. “Our job is to make sure the only
thing she’s thinking about on her wedding day is how happy she is.”
A venue that grows with the event
PalmWood’s signature spaces — the Anthracite Ballroom, the Limestone Terrace, and
Onyx I & II — can be configured to suit almost any size or style of wedding. The
Anthracite Ballroom accommodates up to 160 guests with a dance floor and 184
without. It also opens onto an outdoor terrace that extends the celebration into the open
air. For smaller, more intimate ceremonies, the 12 th -floor Limestone Terrace holds up to 175 guests with panoramic views of the Fort Worth skyline.
Amber D. Holmes, Director of Operations, says the venue’s layout was designed with
flow in mind. “We’ve hosted ceremonies on the terrace and receptions in the ballroom,
cocktail hours in the Jet Gallery and dinners in Onyx — every combination you can
imagine,” she said. “The building itself becomes part of the event design. Couples don’t
have to choose between outdoor and indoor. They can have both.”
The menu is only the starting point
PalmWood’s full-service catering team handles everything from passed hors d’oeuvres
to plated dinners. Couples can select from a range of curated reception and dinner
packages or work directly with the culinary team to build something entirely their own.
Custom menus are available for couples who have a specific vision, a particular cuisine,
or simply don’t want to choose from a list.
The bar program follows the same logic. A sommelier is on staff, the wine list pulls from
producers in California, New Zealand, Oregon, and France, and the craft cocktail menu
changes seasonally. For couples who want something truly personal, the team is happy
to go further.
“One of our favorite things to offer is a signature cocktail,” said Hutto-Leon. “Couples
work with our team to create something that’s completely their own — a drink that
means something to them, with a name to match. Guests love it, and it’s one of those
details people remember.”
Day-of coordination, handled in-house
PalmWood offers day-of coordination packages for both full ceremonies and receptions.
The package includes vendor management, rehearsal direction, ceremony cueing, and
an on-site emergency kit.
For couples seeking full-service planning and design, PalmWood welcomes any planner
a couple chooses to bring. For those still looking, the team keeps a short list of Fort
Worth firms they know well — Plan Revelry, Tami Winn Events, and J Scott Weddings
among them — each with deep experience working in the space.
“What we hear most from our brides is that they felt taken care of,” said Holmes. “That
means everything to us. This is a beautiful space in a great location, but at the end of the
day, it’s the people behind it that make a wedding truly special.”
