The regular season has come to a close and with that ending, the postseason begins.
While there were just a few matches that produced what would be considered an upset, the teams across Class 6A showcased exactly what brought them to the dance.
Districts 5-6A and 6-6A are always a good bet to bring the fireworks when squaring off in the bi-district round, and this year’s volleyball skate saw the latter gain the upper hand by winning three of the four matchups between the two conferences.
Plano West and Flower Mound earned shares of their respective district titles and took care of business to open their respective postseasons in the Class 6A Division II bracket – the Lady Wolves sweeping Marcus and the Lady Jaguars overcoming a first-loss set before dispatching of Plano in four frames.
Allen continues to gain steam by sweeping Coppell in 6A Div. I action, while Plano East showcased its playoff experience, despite finishing third in 6-6A, by knocking off 5-6A co-champion Hebron in four sets.
One of the 6A Div. II bracket’s most entertaining first-round battles came in Region II where Mesquite Horn pulled off a reverse sweep of Copperas Cove – overcoming a two-set deficit by winning frames of 28-26, 26-24 and 15-13.

Star Standouts
Flower Mound junior setter Hayden Curtis had a next-level performance against Plano and then some. She closed in on 40 assists but was able to produce three aces and about a half-dozen kills, showcasing her poise and understanding of how to attack a defense. She continues to be an emotional leader, ready and willing to not only lead by example but lift up the teammates around her.Plano West junior Lola Peters is listed as a setter and opposite side hitter. In the bi-district round against Marcus, she showed why. She is accurate and timely with her passes, but depending on the lineup, she shifts over to the outside and is equally as effective there. Rounding out her effort, she is not afraid to step up to blocks at the net, securing a few timely ones for points across the contest that lifted the Lady Wolves into the area round.Marcus’ season came to a close, but the entire roster minus one will be returning for 2026. In their final contest, junior Emerson Ortmeier led the Lady Marauder effort with six kills. Defensively, he had a team-high eight digs and 16 serves received.
