A new $108 million senior living community has broken ground in the Texas Hill Country, bringing a resort-style retirement campus to one of the state’s most popular lakeside getaway towns.
The Statesman, a new senior living campus in Horseshoe Bay near Marble Falls, will offer independent living, assisted living and memory care for older adults who want to stay close to the Highland Lakes lifestyle but with a little more help close by.
The project is planned as the flagship piece of Silver Rock, a 135-bed upscale senior living development intended to serve Horseshoe Bay’s growing aging community, according to the senior living company’s website. The property, led by Falcon Senior Housing and SilverPoint Senior Living, broke ground May 21, according to a news release.
John Hyjer of Falcon Senior Housing said in the release that the new community is designed to answer a local need for more assisted living options, giving older residents a way to “stay in their hometown” rather than relocate elsewhere for care.
The project is expected to be one of the largest senior housing developments in the Highland Lakes region, a scenic stretch of Central Texas that runs from the Austin area into parts of the northwestern Hill Country.
Kelly Schwennesen, vice president of sales and marketing for SilverPoit, told MySA that the community will have an infinity pool, a fitness and wellness center, art studios and pickleball courts. Other amenities include indoor golf simulators, salon and spa services, and a saltwater pool. The property is also expected to offer residents direct access to Horseshoe Bay’s “world-class amenities,” according to the release.
That setting is a major part of the appeal. Horseshoe Bay is home to the famed Horseshoe Bay Resort, a 7,000-acre golf and lakeside destination with upscale spas, a racquet center, wellness offerings and lakefront recreation.
