The Dutch Orange Bus, a double-decker bus painted a vibrant orange that has become an emblem of Dutch fans, will appear in Richardson on June 15 for a free celebration organized by Hat Creek Burger Company.
The bus will be in Arlington on June 14, the day of the first World Cup match in D-FW, where the Netherlands national team will face Japan at AT&T Stadium, which FIFA is calling Dallas Stadium for the tournament.
The bus stop in Richardson will take place June 15, from 4 to 6 p.m., at the Hat Creek Burger Company restaurant, located at 2311 N. Central Expressway. Admission is free and open to the public.
As part of the celebration, attendees who come dressed in orange will receive complimentary burgers, while supplies last. There will be live music, and people can take photos next to the famous bus; additionally, two lucky fans will be selected to receive a pair of tickets to an upcoming match.
The Dutch Orange Bus is much more than just a vehicle. For more than two decades, it has accompanied Dutch fans to international tournaments and has become an attraction in its own right.
Its orange body, a color historically associated with the House of Orange and the Dutch national teams, usually draws crowds in every city it visits.
For this World Cup, the bus crossed the Atlantic Ocean on a three-week journey to the United States, where it is part of a special tour to accompany Dutch national team fans throughout the tournament. The bus was sent via DHL from the Netherlands to the U.S.
In addition to Dallas, the Dutch national team will play Sweden on June 20 in Houston and Tunisia on June 25 in Kansas City.
