HOUSTON — The Sam Houston bowling team posted a top five finish at the TRACK Kat Klash at Emerald Bowl on Sunday.
The Bearkats finished fourth at the event with 13,722 pins which was the most in the field of 13 teams and went 9-4. Sam Houston lost to North Carolina A&T in the third-place game 4-2 after winning the first two games of the match.
Wichita State placed first with a win over Louisiana Tech in the championship. The Shockers finished with 13,472 pins and the Bullodgs finished with 13,246.
Freshman Emily Hart was seventh in the individual standings Saturday with an average of 203.4 and a high score of 233. Breana Chewens was 14th with an average of 195.4 and a high game of 212.
The Kats have a short turn around as they travel to the Bulldog Classic hosted by Louisiana Tech in Fort Worth beginning Friday.
