LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Jim Stewart, an agriculture broadcaster whose voice was familiar across West Texas for decades, has died.
Stewart was an ag director at KFYO Radio for more than two decades until 2003. In 2005, he joined KRFE where he hosted an ag program until 2023.
In his own words, he led a blessed life.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, worked for the Lubbock Police Department and worked in news.
Stewart interviewed sitting presidents and featured Texas Ag Commissioner Sid Miller frequently on his show.
His family posted today that he died peacefully at home in Lubbock this afternoon.
Jim Stewart was 85 years old.
