ROUND ROCK, Texas (KWTX) – Robinson High School was looking to bring home its first baseball state title in school history on Friday when the Rockets faced off with Brock at Dell Diamond in Round Rock.
The Rockets struck first in the bottom of the first when Helpert drove in Cleere on a fielders choice to give Robinson a 1-0 lead.
Brock tied the game at 1 in the fourth inning and threatened to take the lead but a pair of great defensive plays by Vasquez and Armes to cut down a run at home, and by Coe and and Cleere to get a runner at third kept things even going into the latter innings.

It took until the fifth inning for Robinson to get their first hit of the ball game on bunt single by Cleere.
Robinson threatened with two runners on and no outs. A sacrifice by Vasquez moved the runners into scoring position with one out, and the big hit came from Coe.
The first baseman drove in two runs on a single up the middle to give the Rockets a 3-1 lead.
The Rockets went to the top of the seventh with that 3-1 lead but a lightning delay paused play for over 30 minutes.
In the top of the seventh junior pitcher Eddie Villarreal came in to close the game in relief of Cayden Birkes (who had an excellent game), and loaded the bases but got a pop fly to end it.
Robinson wins their first baseball state championship in school history 3-1!
