EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A Northeast El Paso neighborhood might be seeing some relief from flooding after a drainage project is completed.
City officials confirmed that the drainage project, meant to alleviate flooding near Palomino Street and Laramie Circle, has been completed.
El Paso City Rep. Cynthia Boyar Trejo, who represents District 4 (the Northeast), took to social media on Thursday to post a video showing off the new anti-flooding infrastructure.

In an interview with KFOX14/CBS4, Trejo said she had been driving around the area monitoring the project’s construction.
Trejo added that when it rained this week, no flooding was reported.
“The neighborhood is in good condition,” Trejo said.

Originally, as was reported, the project was started in September of 2025 with the expectation that it was going to be finished in six months, so around February 2026.
KFOX14/CBS4 asked the City when it was completed, but did not get a specific response to that question.
