Houston’s own Simone Biles is raising concerns among fans after revealing she was recently hospitalized and nearly died, though the Olympic gymnast has not yet disclosed what happened.

Biles shared a photo on her Instagram story Saturday showing hospital wristbands on her arm, thanking friends and family who checked on her during her recovery.

“I’m not one to normally share things like this because I value privacy in today’s age,” Biles wrote. “But almost dying wasn’t on my bingo card earlier this week.”

The 11-time Olympic medalist described the ordeal as one of the “scariest” she has ever gone through,

“This was one of, if not the scariest experience of my life,” she wrote. “Especially since Jonathan was in Indy for practices.”

While no additional information was widely available Saturday, the Spring native noted she plans to address it.

“I’ve been in bed resting this week, I’ll explain sooner or later,” she wrote.

Biles, widely considered one of, if not the greatest, gymnasts in history, most recently competed at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she added four more medals to her already record-setting career.

For now, fans are left waiting for answers while wishing the Houston-area athlete a speedy recovery.

This is a breaking news story and will continue to be updated as more information becomes available.
