LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Summer heat has returned to the South Plains and rain chances have decreased.
Lubbock recorded a high of 96 today, slightly above the normal of 91 degrees. At least the humidity levels decreased some, except for communities along and east of the caprock.

Looking ahead, it will be a typically hot June week with afternoon high temperatures remaining in the 90s over the South Plains. Isolated thunderstorms may still be possible, but chances are much lower than this past week. However, rain chances will increase by Friday and the coming weekend.
