A human rights advocacy group in El Paso held a press conference Monday to present alleged human rights violations by authorities in the Borderland.
On Monday afternoon, the Border Network for Human Rights held a press conference to detail a total of 128 allegations of human rights violations, 10 documented cases involving the El Paso Police Department, 11 documented cases involving the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, and 13 documented cases involving Immigration and Customs Enforcement, all from 2025 to 2026.
This is all part of BNHR’s campaign “The Abuse of Authority Documentation Campaign,” an annual effort that encourages community members to denounce and document incidents they say involve abuse by local, state and federal law enforcement personnel at the U.S. southern border.
