NCAA files notice of appeal after Brendan Sorsby found eligible in temporary injunction ruling

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – The NCAA responded to the news of Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorby being found eligible and granted a temporary injunction with an appeal of its own.

According to documents, the NCAA filed the notice of appeal on Monday after judge Ken Curry made his ruling. The NCAA is looking for a quick or as it described in the filing an “accelerated appeal” to the Court of Appeals for the Seventh District of Texas in Amarillo.

All four justices, Chief Justice Judy Parker, Justice Lawrence Doss, Justice Alex Yarbough and Justice Laura Pratt, graduated from Texas Tech University School of law.

Right now, Judge Curry set the final trial date in Lubbock for the week of Feb. 8, 2027.
