Target is ramping up some Texas-sized renovations across the Lone Star State this summer, with a specific focus on making it more competitive in the grocery sector compared to regional giants like H-E-B and Kroger. A Target spokesperson confirmed to MySA that these dozen locations will debut a more “food-forward layout,” with a larger concentration and footprint for groceries, produce and grab-and-go meals as part of that.
The reimagined floor plans will be coupled with locally-manufactured store displays, expanded drive-up lanes and in-store pickup operations alongside the addition of new lighting and customized murals.
Here in Central Texas, Target’s Temple store at 3550 S. General Bruce Drive, Building A100, Temple, TX 76504, will undergo those revamps. As of the time of publication, company officials said no Austin stores had been slated for these changes as part of the summer renovations.
Other stores that have been given the green light for some added TLC are nestled in the Houston area, San Antonio and South Texas, Dallas-Fort Worth and North Texas, as well as West Texas:
Those improvements are scheduled to wrap up work by late summer, officials added.
