Man, 25, dead after being struck by a vehicle on State Highway 205

A 25-year-old man died following a Sunday morning crash on State Highway 205 near Kaufman and Rockwall counties, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety statement.

DPS highway patrol troopers responded to reports of a vehicle and pedestrian accident about 1:23 a.m. on SH 205, according to the statement

Investigators determined a pedestrian, later identified as Jatwane Anton Wilson, was standing outside his disabled vehicle on the highway when he walked into a lane and was struck by a southbound Mercedes SUV.

The Mercedes driver was not injured, the statement said. Investigators did not publicly say whether the driver would face charges in connection with the crash.

DPS troopers said the investigation is ongoing, and no additional information is available.
