According to a press release, alarm holders will receive a letter from the LPD’s records department notifying them of the permit fee related to their alarm. The letter will provide detailed information on how alarm owners can make the payment for the permit, as well as contact information for any questions they may have.
An example of the letter citizens may receive can be found above.
LPD officials state that this ordinance was introduced to improve the allocation of LPD department resources. The aim is to reduce false alarm responses and enable officers to focus on genuine emergencies.
