Jessie Prince’s passion for the performing arts has earned her one of the highest honors presented through the Broadway Dallas High School Musical Theatre Awards program.
Prince of Rockwall High School, was named one of four recipients of the prestigious Spirit of Broadway Dallas HSMTA Award. The honor includes a $2,500 college scholarship and recognizes “students who embody the essence of Broadway Dallas through their dedication to the arts, enthusiasm for performance and positive influence on those around them.”
The Spirit Award is a special distinction presented annually to outstanding high school students participating in the Broadway Dallas high school awards program. Recipients are selected for their “commitment to performing, collaborative spirit and ability to inspire fellow students throughout the rehearsal and performance process.”
Students are nominated by their teachers and evaluated during the HSMTA program. Winners are chosen by a scholarship panel made up of Broadway Dallas staff members, board members and community leaders.
The award winners were announced during the annual Broadway Dallas High School Musical Theatre Awards ceremony at the historic Music Hall at Fair Park.
